About Briggs Middle School

At Briggs, we are lucky to have a school culture where caring, nurturing staff share high academic expectations for all students. Our staff is focused on improving literacy in every content area because we believe all students should be able create, communicate, and use knowledge in all facets of their lives. A system of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) teach and reinforce positive behaviors at school to create an environment where kids can be successful.

Briggs organizes it’s Advisory program through a “House” system in which we create a middle school community where students work together to support each other as they progress throughout the middle school years. The purpose of each house is to provide guidance and support for social, personal and academic development during each student’s time at BMS.

Students also help each other through our strong WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) program, which links 8th-grade mentors with 6th-grade students to help them make the transition to middle school and support them throughout their first year at Briggs.

Students have a wide range of opportunities at Briggs to expand their learning environments. Technology is integrated throughout much of the school to give students access to 21st-century teaching and learning methods with laptop computers available to all students.
