Holiday Tradition Returns to Briggs Middle School

Briggs students enjoy holiday meal
Brian Richardson

A long-running tradition once again brought warmth, laughter, and a delicious Thanksgiving-style meal to Briggs Middle School. On November 26, students enjoyed a classic holiday menu featuring roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, corn, and a festive serving of pumpkin pie. As each grade level gathered to dine together, the cafeteria filled with conversation, smiles, and the joyful energy that comes with sharing a meal with friends.

This year’s celebration was made possible with the support of several community partners and volunteers, including International Paper, Eugene Springfield Fire, Springfield Police, and parents. Representatives from each organization joined District leaders in serving meals and giving thanks.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Briggs’s orchestra students provided live music during the meal. Their performances created a warm and welcoming setting as guests visited, staff and volunteers served plates, and students enjoyed time together outside of their regular routines.

The Holiday Feed continues to be a favorite Briggs tradition and a meaningful reminder of connection, gratitude, and the strong partnerships that support students year after year.
